Marco Guerrero
23 hrs
I noticed Julie Rowe just created a (new?) Facebook profile and added a few people from this group, including me. Does anyone know her personally?

Joan Fowler There's been threads set up about the New Age practices she is teaching and practicing on people, performing priestcrafts and falsely teaching it's from Christ. Those threads are in this group. Body Code, Emotion Code, are repackaged versions of spiritualism practiced by satanists. So not gossip Katie. Facts that some choose not to see they are also participating in.

Joan Fowler That's not assumption Katie. Fact: she practices Body Code and Emotion Code as well as teaches it. Fact: they are both new age practices and the teachings of them are drawn from the very same practices as Dianetics which is, Fact: learned from a known Satanist Alister Crowley. Those are facts. If you want to see for yourself that she practices those teachings its services she offers for money on her website which also makes her a practitioner of priestcrafts.

How is it talking behind ones back if the words are right here in a group she can join herself and read? She is teaching people in the church this practice that is not if God. Not just a gospel doctrine class but large groups of people. I WANT her to see the truth of what she is teaching about.

Greg Dunn I'm now blocking Joan Fowler. I think that she very likely is on the side of the adversary and is full of contention. It's a blessing to be able to do this. Whatever you do don't look into anything to develop yourself that is not in scripture. Let's blaspheme each other and cast stones. Let's make accusations because we heard it from someone. Joan, has the spirit testified of these claims you make about this woman? I don't know her but the beating she is taking on Social Media is not Christ-like.
I read awhile back the Christmas Spheres are of the occult and those that promote them are Satanists because after all If you rearrange Santa what does that spell? Have you ever promoted these and this form of priestcraft Joan?
Gotta love the free agency of the block button.
Read your scriptures, fast, pray and follow the prophet and don't forget to judge not that ye be not judged!
And Joan, there is nobody on these LDS pages that gives me more of the creeps than you. Sorry but there is singing about you that feels very dark. Now I need to get on my knees and repent of the ill I have spoken about you. Blocking your profile will help with the rest.

Maren Begnaud Just an FYI as to why Joan is so passionate. Her father fell for one of these doomsday groups and it destroyed her family. While there are some pretty ridiculous claims of occultism in the Christian community and some stupidly insane things going around the Internet, there are facts to support Joan's claims. Also not only do I know several families who've been hurt by Julie's teachings, I'm reading more and more accounts that are heartbreaking. It's a fact the Law of Attraction is and occult belief first written about by occultist. It's a fact that this is the roots of most energy healing. The other roots stem from pagan religions that were mixed into the New Age philosophies. Julie Rowe teaches and practices Emotion Code. It's talked about in the appendix of her second book and you can go to her own website and see for yourself. There's claims this is revelation from God to Dr. Bradley Nelson. Yet if you read what Emotion Code is and then read what Dianetics is, you'll see it's the same thing. People are opening the doors to a spiritual realm that they probably don't want to open and not realizing it. Also Julie Rowe had been on AVOW before her book was written and there are some discrepancies. It's not idle gossip but s simple matter of looking at both sides and the evidences before making up ones mind. All these things are out there. For those who have had to learn about what the New Age movement is, due to painful experiences in their lives, or have seen problems with false prophets, we tend to be more skeptical about things. It's not out of hate, it's out of love that people warn. Tho passion sometimes gets in the way. There's safety in following the Prophet. To reading scripture and to be very careful when dealing with other things. Be prepared. We ALL know something is coming. God has td us our whole lives. Why do we need anyone else to tell us these things. Satans most insidious lies are the ones wrapped in truths. He will build his own temples of truth but they're built on a foundation of lies. He will appear as an angel of light and feign all the love and good feeling and false peace he can muster. Sticking with sound doctrine will be our ONLY safety from the storms.

Maren Begnaud Oh and Greg, making fun of something someone says, and adding silliness to it without even bothering to check and see if these things are true or false shows some lack of judgement on your part.
It's time we get over this superficial feel good view of things and understand that we are at war with an adversary who knows us, knows our gospel and will do anything he can to destroy both. I suggest people look up the characteristics of a sociopath as that is the very essence of who our enemy is. He's cunning, he's smooth, he's charismatic and "a liar from the beginning". He knows our scripture better than most of us. He quoted scripture to the Savior Himself when tempting Him.
I believe God gave us many gifts starting with intelligence, then agency, then the Light of Christ and a brain along with the Spirit (the Sprit is deity and should be capitalized by the way), I believe God wants us to use all these things and do our due process in vetting out anything outside of His Gospel and way, on anything of a spiritual nature and, I feel, on anything in life. The antichrist will come under a guise of peace. It won't sound bad. I'm just asking people to really look at who we are fighting, cause let's face it, this is war. Some are meek and mild in their fighting and some are loud. So personality conflicts can arise. But I for one am tired of all conversation and discussion or all messages being stopped or ignored because of the cry of contention. It gets used far too much when someone says something we don't like.

Jess Wilson From what I've seen all nde and dream and vision books have only helped inactive people to become active, and helped people to prrpare for whats coming, if they prep with the spirit as they're guide they are using personal revelation But if the fear prep it can lead them down wrong paths like I have heard some have done on AVOW but I don't judge my brothers and sisters. I do know that Satan mirrors everything of God, not the other way around... I have not looked into any of the emotion code or healings that Julie teaches, there is good and bad use of spiritual thing such as healing, but If she learned. It from Christ in the spirit world to do good, and bishops and stake presidents are using Julie's methods as I have heard, I will not judge them... besides I am in groups that follow people like Julie, Hector, and ithets and we meet up on camp outs and get togethets and these are some of the most non confrontational and most spirital people I have met and who I talk to daily online...

Katie Lyn Buxton agreed Jess. I'm not even a JR enthusiast. I think what she said is interesting and I've taken it all with a grain of salt. They say you will know them by their works, and I've never read or heard her say anything that I thought was bad. I imagine if she was misguided or had poor intentions we would have seen in manifested by now. The emotion code thing seems odd, but heck what do we know? We all belong to a religion that thinks some really odd things anyways. So honestly I don't think all the drama is necessary, if anything it just drives the spirit away and becomes a distraction from the actually important things.

Maren Begnaud We have been given healing from God in the form of the Priesthood, to be done by those who are in authority and who are worthy. The Priesthood does not supersede God's will. We can also ask God to help us or pray for others, but again it's up to God's will and faith. We don't need intermediaries to help up in our prayers. first, I'll add the disclaimer that I am in no way accusing anyone of being Denver Snuffer, but Denver Snuffer said these same things regarding his visions. People said it brought them back into the church, brought them closer to Christ, made them want to learn and study the scriptures more. On the surface these seem good. But in fact Denver lead many more away than he ever got to go to church thru his writings, he lead people away from solid gospel principles and rom the church. It's prudent, when any person comes forward claiming new revelation, to look with an eye of skepticism. Superficial goodness does not mean it's inherently good. I believe the wisdom taught in Provident Living by our Prophet and Apostles is more than just buying food storage. Food storage is only a part. I'm very glad to see people preparing more and more. I feel we'll need it, but i enter words of caution in wrapping your testimony of the Gospel and it's truthfulness with anyones dreams or visions or feelings.

I for one will stick with what the Prophets and apostles teach and they teach love and tolerance of our differences. My personal feelings are this, that the Gospel is not linear but n eternal round. If new things (read mysteries) learned don't fit with the basics, then to me something it wrong. My will vs Thy will be done, Work vs idleness, the 2 plans. you see these things playing out right now.

Bret Richard Johnson Helen Bertler this is the 4th time someone has thrown this "Gnosticism" article at me for what I shared about the signs in the earth beneath and others are sharing spiritual experiences to wake us up for the tribulations before the 2nd Coming. This article is skewing the truth. Julie and all the rest of us with dreams and visions about what is coming aren't speaking authoritatively for the Church. This article is great for people that are anti/apostate but shame on Fair Mormon bashing Julie Rowe and others when she has said repeatedly her visions and dreams are FOR HER OWN STEWARDSHIP NOT SPEAKING FOR THE CHURCH BUT WE CAN ALL BENEFIT TO GET MORE PREPARED SPIRITUALLY AND TEMPORALLY FROM HER SHARING ANYWAY AS WE FOLLOW THE PROPHET. AndJoan Fowler you should go back to the Salem witch trials because that's where your comments belong. Chakras (like on Aang the Last Airbender), meditation, yoga, body/emotion code, etc are all a tool! Just because God or Satan or man in general uses them doesn't make the tool evil -your attack parallels gun control enthusiasts. I'm sorry your family was destroyed for getting overzealous in prepping -there is something called a balance to continue living your life that all of us follow including Julie. Stop letting your hurt make you attack other just because your family had an overzealous prepping contention experience and follow the Spirit. I can promise you the Spirit is not prompting you to "injure another" like King Benjamin proclaimed!

Joan Fowler Really Bret? - ~"you should go back to the Salem witch trials because that's where your comments belong. Chakras (like on Aang the Last Airbender), meditation, yoga, body/emotion code, etc are all a tool! Just because God or Satan or man in general uses them doesn't make the tool evil -your attack parallels gun control enthusiasts."~

If God creates and uses "a tool" then we as his children and followers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ can know it is safe to use. The Priesthood is a great example.

If Satan creates and uses "a tool", are you really going to pick that up and try to just invoke the name of Christ on it to use at your will... and think it safe? If you think you can, then you are the exact example of what the Satanists planned for our generations, to infiltrate the churches with New Age doctrines, methods, and thinking and get them to use it in whatever way was palatable to the user. These new age healings and practices are the counterfeit for the Priesthood. (Who is the creator of counterfeit?) They work, boy do they work, because Satan can perform miracles and act as an angel of light to deceive.

~"I'm sorry your family was destroyed for getting overzealous in prepping -there is something called a balance to continue living your life that all of us follow including Julie. Stop letting your hurt make you attack other just because your family had an overzealous prepping contention experience and follow the Spirit."~

Bret, my father and sisters didn't leave the church because of over prepping... where would you get that? They left because of people teaching false doctrines - and just a reminder, all people who left the church with a following right behind them for one reason or another, they all claimed they were just following true doctrine, following the Brethren at one point. Their ideas and practices SPOKE LOUDLY OTHERWISE.

Which is what people have been trying to point out about Julie Rowe. Not "Spencer", not Hector, not anyone else.... Julie Rowe. Her practices in New Age healings and spiritualism are almost exactly the same thing as the likes of Dianetics, which if you aren't familiar with that, is what Scientology practices. The founder of Dianetics, L Ron Hubbard, was a dedicated student and enthusiast and had a direct influence and friendship with Aleister Crowley. Just to quickly build that family tree for you if you choose to do further research about it and know for yourself.... Crowley was a real piece of work... studied every vial and nasty form of worship known to man. The man was the embodiment of evil. He studied all the works of Madame Blavatsky of which we've already said. So, there is a small family tree of Satanists that are the creators and distributors of New Age practices and spiritualism. All the rays of light and mystical imagery.... just a facade for the dark works that lie beneath.

If you read nothing else I have said, then at lease READ AND PONDER JUST THIS POINT BELOW:

The practices of summoning spirits (practiced in New Age as well as in Body Code/Emotion Code) is about as anti-Christian as you can get. That is the practice of summoning and harnessing either lesser spirits (we know those as the 1/3 who were cast out of Heaven with Lucifer - others might call them demons, aliens, etc) or those that have passed on from this life is a satanic practice, not AT ALL conducive with the Holy Ghost or Christian practices. Summoning spirits is working against the will of God (it is God that chooses when and if one whom we love who has passed on will ever get to visit or influence us, not to be summoned at our will and leisure). And you can guess what influence a "lesser" spirit might have on us when we summon them. Kids play with Oiuja boards, psychics with Tarot cards and other rituals.... these are all METHODS of the New Age practices of summoning spirits to us. Go ask ANY Body Code or Emotion Code practitioner or recipient if they summon ancestors.... see what they say. Julie Rowe uses these methods for herself and others, she practices and teaches them, and she charges money for it.

So....

~"I can promise you the Spirit is not prompting you to "injure another" like King Benjamin proclaimed!"~

Frankly, I am more concerned with those that are being injured by even the slightest bit of her influence on them to start even a tiny bit into these practices. Tent cities? I don't have too much of an opinion on it, because if it happens it happens, if it doesn't great.... I have more time to get a few more things done in life that I want to do not being strapped to living in a tent. Her temporal warnings don't even influence me because I already had everything I needed if we were ever to have to bug out. I didn't need Julie for that... the Prophet advised it all along.

One last thing.... We can see from Julie Rowe's speaking engagements, promotions in the backs of her books, and her own website, that she is a practitioner or Body/Emotion Code which is New Age practices nicely packaged in Christian and LDS terminology to make it seem like Honey, not vinegar. With that knowledge, wouldn't it call into question the very legitimacy of even her NDE experience, dreams and visions? I am only speaking about her, nobody else. If she were unknowingly influenced by spirits because of these practices, not messages from God, then where did her visions and dreams originate from?

Remember Jeffrey R Holland quoting CS Lewis... “There is no neutral ground in the universe. Every square inch, every split second is claimed by God, and counterclaimed by Satan.”

Think about it. I have said my piece on the matter. Everyone can study it out for themselves if they truly are concerned for theirs or their loved ones being influenced by her and her practices, or if you think your soul is sure without even questioning her experiences, then bypass it. Washing my hands of the matter now. If you know her, feel free to share this post with her. It might do her some good to understand that her practices ARE destroying peoples testimonies in the TRUE Gospel of Jesus Christ, of which we all made the Baptismal Covenant to take upon ourselves His Name.

Buy instead of sharing and accepting the differwnces there is contention, debate and so forth. I like this site, am grateful that I was invited. But I check it less frequently due to this. Cant we all play nice? I know some in this thread have been nice so I am generalizing for the sake of my comments. Thanks.

Bret Richard Johnson Joan Fowler Wisdom and knowledge can be used for good or evil. And the USER that is a follower of Jesus or Satan will use that wisdom or knowledge for good or evil by inviting Jesus' or Satan's help. You seem stuck on the idea that every form of healing outside of the Priesthood is evil. The General Authorities would agree with me you are too extreme and they wouldn't be extremely paranoid about it like you are. Medications even are a tool used for evil when overused. Chakras, yoga, emotion body code, and others teach us to gain control of our bodies' and spirits' health by healthy thoughts to release blocked energy and emotions. I feel the Spirit during it and I know what Satan's presence feels like. Peace is the only feeling Satan cannot imitate and General Authorities have said this. Call this evil all you want and I will just refer you back to my original comment that your comment belongs with the Salem witch trials. You are falsely assuming that all people that use these practices to heal their body are calling upon the devil to heal them. Your extreme thought comes from your heart wall you have put up from extreme trauma in the past. Let it go! You have a have-to-be-right mentally. I am defending and finishing what you started -you are starting things and attacking -go do something worthwhile with your life besides tearing down others. There are tons of other religions and God gives them light and knowledge too like Alma said in Alma 29:8. 8 "For behold, the Lord doth grant unto all nations, of their own nation and tongue, to teach his word, yea, in wisdom, all that he seeth fit that they should have; therefore we see that the Lord doth counsel in wisdom, according to that which is just and true."

Save your new age healing speak for those who find it fine to look outside the Priesthood for spiritual healing. I know where true authority lies, and where the gift of healing lies and it is not with New Age spiritualism practices thanks.

Greg Dunn Lehi was a visionary man and was doubted by his own family. He also dwelt in a tent. Don't say he was the prophet because at the time the prophet was Jeremiah! The Pioneers also fled to the west and many lived in tents due to persecution. Is Julie Rowe stirring up controversy or is the unfaithful masses or the faithful that choose not to believe her story? I don't know enough about her energy work to call it priestcraft but if it was why would she not be going through the same as the apostate Kate Kelly? Take a moment to contemplate if her dreams and visions are not real and better yet, fast and pray on it. If you have the courage read her books but never given them more value than the Book of Mormon, standard works and teachings of modern day prophets and apostles.
Do you not see the signs of the times. Marriage has been redefined by our Supreme Court, abortion is celebrated and defended by those sworn to defend our constitution, homosexuality is embraced in our educational system and in scouting.
The Brethren know very well about these books. They have sat on the shelves of Deseret Book, Seagull Book, Barnes & Noble and online right next to theirs.
Julie Rowe is not the problem. Judgmental People are the problem. People that are not worthy to by guided and directed by the spirit are the problem. Sin is the problem.
Are the prophecies of Joel not being fulfilled? Have you researched to see that these dreams that are very similar are taking place all over the world for both members and non-members? Have you received spiritual confirmation that her books are not of benefit to you as a warning?
What has she written in her books that is contrary to the gospel and prophesies of our prophets and apostles?
And Helen Bertler, the next conference may pan out to be the 4 session conference that Spencer dreamed of in Visions of Glory. If that is the case are you prepared? That's the question we should be asking. Are we prepared to meet our Father in Heaven and Lord Jesus Christ?

Joan Fowler But, nobody will be able to find where conjuring of spirits was a practice condoned by God, OT, NT, or Christ's current church. It is a condemned practice and those that do it are condemning themselves. Sorry if that is harsh to some ears, but I would rather be harsh than sit by and say nothing when I know its a condemned and satanic practice. Harnessing souls at your own will and leisure is called slavery.

Maren Begnaud I wish people would stop with the assumption that those who don't believe in Julie are not preparing, engaged in the signs of the times, or paying attention. On the contrary. Greg Dunn Who wrote those that don't believe Julie Rowe are not preparing? Those that have followed the prophet have prepared long before Julie Rowe. A question to ponder is have hers and other books helped to hasten the work and are our spirits prepared? These dreams and visions are real and if the spirit prompts one to share they should. If what they are sharing is not in accordance to the laws and ordinances of the gospel it will be brought to our attention via the spirit or the brethren. I have seen far to much contention over this on these pages to believe this is the case. The righteous being persecuted is another sign of the times. Could this be the foundation for Julie's persecution? I love think one of the biggest mistakes people can make is to give more time to her books than the standard works, prayer and their families but if this is the case is that Julie's fault or the one with their nose in her books?

Bret Richard Johnson Joan Fowler as far as going to hear from the dead the first verse that is good that came to my mind from memory and best verse I think is from Isaiah 8 also in the BoM, "19 And when they shall say unto you: Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep and mutter--should not a people seek unto their God for the living to hear from the dead?" God should always be involved if you want to hear from the dead and I have had dreams from God of people I love in the spirit world. Julie has had the same thing. I am sure she involves God with prayer in all she does with that emotion code practice while the world may not and unknowingly invite bad spirits -our spirits good or evil invite good or evil spirits. Again, everything is a tool and when God is involved with prayer like Nephi said to always pray before you do anything.

Greg Dunn awesome analogy of Lehi being a prophet while Jeremiah was the Prophet. I should have included that in my talk two Sundays ago and just mentioned Melchizedek was the Prophet while Abraham was a prophet. A prophet just is someone who has the Spirit upon them and foresees things (Moses wished we were all prophets! Numbers 11:29). A Prophet is God's mouth piece for earth and sets doctrine pure. Anyone of us can be like Lehi and Abraham as little p prophets but of course we don't go around saying we are -thus it is an unwritten and unspoken law because it can go to people's heads to not follow the Prophet but a prophet would follow the Prophet.

Joan Fowler Oh wow Bret.... you have taken that scripture COMPLETELY out of context.

The whole scripture is: (my thoughts in parenthesis)

Isaiah 8:18-22 (important to include all the verses especially with Isaiah... you didn't even include the punctuation... small lesson in punctuation to remind you..."Let's eat Grandma." "Let's eat, Grandma.)

18 Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

(Meaning...the children of Israel are ~the "are" is italicized in the scriptures~ the signs and wonders from the Lord)

19 ¶And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

("They" are men, or the Gentiles - When they say to you to seek those that call on ancestral spirits and to wizards that peep (spying into things) and mutter (chant): ~notice the colon..important punctuation piece there~ - instead shouldn't YOU (the children of Israel) seek unto God? Why inquire about the living to those that are dead? The colon is important because it is not "a muttering" of the question, it is the verb used for the wizards that peep and mutter)

20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

(To the law and to the testimony - There is not light in them or there is no light in the men that seek for doctrine and testimony from the dead)

21 And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.

(Bestead is opressed, so they will be opressed with hunger and they will curse themselves and God and the next verse is they will be driven to darkeness.)

22 And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.

THAT is the context of the verse you used. Easy to take out of context and use for your purpose, but not so easy when you see that the practice and enticement of it is wizardry and sorcery, and leads you to curse God eventually, WHEN YOU INCLUDE the other verses.

2 Nephi 18:19 And when they shall say unto you: Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep and mutter--should not a people seek unto their God for the living to hear from the dead?

Isaiah 8:19 ¶And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

I think the abuse she is taking is why she is withdrawing from some circles and joining some others. How would you feel if you were accused of drawing people away from the church and of priestcraft and things that are satanic? Not very Christlike things for our brothers and sisters to say.
I made a post yesterday on another page regarding how spiritual our stake conference was and the power of the Book of Mormon and suggested we read it, listen to our latter day prophets and apostles and fast and pray and let the spirit guide us to other sources and it turned into an absolute Julie Rowe bashing session and unfortunately Joan was one of the three antagonists. Helen Bertler Greg Dunn it is so sad that people are bashing her, but I feel some of the people in this group are just trying to be careful, like me, because in my opinion she just went a little too far with this. I do not say this to put her down or bash her, that certainly is against what the Savior would have any of us do. The only thing I am having trouble with is that she spoke in such a way as she knows as much, if not more, than the prophets on this manner. Where did she get her authority to tell the members what to be doing and how things will basically play out and when? She is trying to speak for the leaders, and we have been warned against such behavior. This is really my only concern and it is a legitimate one. I know what the prophets and the scriptures say about this " beware."

Greg Dunn Have you read her books? I have never heard her speak and have only read her first book. I recall multiple times that she has said to follow the prophet and that she sustained the prophet. I know she has also written that she has no stewardship. She also has told people that there is things she saw she is not allowed to discuss. So I ask you this? Is she perfect? There was only one.
You don't have to look any further than the scriptures to see righteous men that have fallen such as King David or wicked men that have become righteous such as Alma the Younger. I personally don't feel that anyone should caution or warn others and make accusations of priestcraft without spiritual confirmation or the priesthood authority to do so.
In 2004 President Gordon B. Hinckley spoke and said that the prophesies of Joel had been revealed. You may say she is speaking for the leaders but if so why has her fate not been the same as Kate Kelly's who openly pushed for women to ha e the priesthood, was told by her church leaders that it was not the will of the lord and to stop. She didn't and went through church court and was excommunicated. Why have we not heard of this with Julie Rowe and even more importantly, what did she share in her books or on the stage that is contrary to the laws and ordinances Of the gospel and is also unbelievable?

  • Helen Bertler Greg Dunn yes I have read her books and was an avid fan for quite awhile until I got uneasy feelings about what she is doing, she may not even understand what she has done wrong yet herself. My purpose is not to pin things on her to make her look bad, I am not that kind of person and that would be a sin. Of course she would say there are things she shouldn't discuss, I believe she saw everything and more than what she reveals, especially in her second book. I know she says to follow the prophet and that she has no stewardship. This is what got me comfortable at first with reading her experiences. Of course saying these things would make anyone more comfortable, but it is how she has written parts of her second book "the time is now" that has made me uncomfortable. She states what the leaders will do in certain situations as if they have already been in touch with her. Why would God tell her and only her what they are going to say and do. Why does she have this jurisdiction even over many of the apostles, who don't even know how this will exactly play out? My father, who has been a Stake and mission president told me with a very serious tone to beware of what she is saying because it probably won't happen exactly as she says, don't follow her every word because she really does not have the authority to instruct members on such a serious matter. The book is quite instructive and she acts like she is the authority in what will happen. I just thought she should have left the instructive parts out and left that to the ordained leaders when the call comes. There is a line of authority and I just feel she wasn't careful enough here and it has caused so much controversy in the church. She isn't speaking against the leaders like kate Kelly did so of course no action could be taken against her. She is just treading on thin ice in my opinion and some of her instructive comments and meetings should have not been included with her experiences. There is nothing wrong with writing your experiences, we are even encouraged to do such. But it is another thing to step over the chain of authority when it comes to instructing members what they should be doing as a whole in the church. This is the stewardship of our ordained leaders and I just thought she went a bit too far, that's all.

  • Maren Begnaud Denver Snuffer also claimed he had a vision from Jesus that he was instructed to share. He also said to follow the prophet. He also said he sustained his leaders. He also said he wasn't a prophet. He said the same exact things, but all the while he was saying that, he was stepping further and further over line. In the end he was excommunicated but it didn't happen right away, it was a slow progression that took years. So when someone comes and claims they had a vision and God told them to share it, and in it share new revelation, then I say be wary. Yes, be prepared. Yes get ready. Things are coming. We know this. I'm prepared for whatever eventuality. I just choose not to put all my eggs in one basket. If the Mormon rapture comes, so be it... If it doesn't do be it.

It only takes one verse/one question, "SHOULD NOT A PEOPLE SEEK UNTO THEIR GOD FOR THE LIVING TO HEAR FROM THE DEAD???" 2 Nephi 18:19

I saw your post Bret. To answer, NO they shouldn't, as Isaiah says in the context of the entire verses on the matter. You see the fruits of it at the bottom verses. But tell you what... take my challenge, go to a General Authority and take the entire printed conversation to one and see what he says about it and the reason it is being argued in the first place. I have pages of scriptures stating that it is an abomination to summon spirits on our behalf and yoke them to our will, but you see yourself as the theologian on the matter, so nothing else we discuss will matter. The answers will also be there at the end when we are judged. I'll take it up with you then if you decide not to seek a General Authority on the matter. Adios.

I already sent it to Julie Rowe she is reading it now. Isaiah plainly says (in the Book of Mormon) people should pray to God if they want to hear from their dead love ones. See ya. I don't feel to block you because I feel your heart will be softened someday...

I wasn't aware she was made a General Authority?

lol
putting things in my mouth

Well the challenge was to take it to a church authority, not one biased to the false practices of New Age spiritualism

but do what you want. You let me know what Miss Julie thinks

Joan admit it I totally proved from that Isaiah verse in the Book of Mormon it is okay to hear from our dead loved ones if you go through God according to 2 Nephi 18:19 -"should not a people seek unto God for the living TO HEAR FROM the dead?"

I'm sure it will be full of light and knowledge

Joseph Smith got that extra phrase "TO HEAR FROM" during the translation
that was lost
from the ancient OT translations

It IS okay, when it is God's will to send THEM to us, not for them to be summoned in a healing ritual
Right so the Spirit must guide from God's will.
Again I promise you there is a good and bad everything. Just look at life in general. Good serpent = Christ, Bad serpent = Satan. etc,

Bret... you are so off track that I can't even have this conversation with you. SO MANY TIMES I SAID IN THE THREAD that the practice being taught in Body Code and Emotion Code is to summon ancestors to release your pain from you. Summoning is conjuring spirits. Conjuring spirits at your will and leisure is a satanic practice

I'm surprised the Lord hasn't prompted me to stop talking to you. Really I am.
The difference between the world's body code and the Spirit's body code is that you don't just summon spirits. But Malachi 4:5-6 talks about the hearts of ancestors and children become one and close.
I'm sure prayer is involved.
I can discern spirits.
I know what is God and what is Satan.

Whatever. Good luck with all your endeavors. You clearly think you are following the right path. But you refuse to look at the roots of these rituals and practices and so we are done. Have a good one.

K good bye.
